Speed, Power, Quickness Lacrosse Program

Running is the foundation of playing lacrosse. A lacrosse player may have learned excellent skills in order to outsmart their opponent, but without the
speed to move the ball down the field quickly and get in position, the player’s learned techniques might not be enough
to make the play.
Acceleration Sports Training Centers were developed
to help athletes improve the power, speed, agility, strength, and confidence to improve their game. Lacrosse athletes who participate in the Acceleration training programs train with the most advanced technology
available today, along with specialized equipment, all designed to improve:
-
Acceleration and speed for running with and without the ball and accelerate past
the defender or getting into position
-
Agility
for changing direction quickly on the field
-
Body coordination
and balance for executing moves accurately
-
Strength
and power for forceful shots on the goal

Program
Components:
Super Treadmill – Research has shown that incline running on our unique, hydraulically
controlled treadmill provides 200 – 300% more recruitment of the muscles responsible for increasing and maintaining
speed, than running on level at the same stride frequency. This specialized training
is crucial for improving the overall speed and acceleration needed for general lacrosse play.
Plyometrics – Plyometric training includes a variety of footwork drills and special exercises that
enhance an athlete’s ability to stay balanced and change directions quickly and explosively for changing direction,
moving around defenders, and proper defensive positioning.
Strength Training
– Through the use of specially designed weight equipment and an individualized program, lacrosse athletes can develop
and increase their overall strength base, contributing to more forceful kicks and shots on goal.
